So… Hello there!
I’m Adrienne Steele, and I’m super excited to share my indie author journey. I currently have two spicy sci-fi romantasy books published on Amazon – maybe you’ve read them? – and I’m not gonna lie:
What I know when it comes to self-publishing is still a little sparse.
But!
I’ve been managing contracts and programs with the U.S government (and their Prime contractors – Boeing, Lockheed, etc.) for over twenty years.
Yes, I am a Corporate America Boss Lady.
Which means I know a lot about NDAs, contracts, licensing agreements, project planning, and a bunch of other ‘boring office stuff’ that I never though I’d use as an author.
Got a question about your own journey? I probably have a spreadsheet for that.
And I’ll be sharing those spreadsheets here!
This Substack isn’t about just me, though. It’s a place where you can read (and learn from!) other authors’ adventures in Indie Authoring, and much more!

Most of the time, to be an Indie Author is to be a very busy hermit. A desperately cloistered scholar, hunched over a laptop, diligently type, type, typing away at a story…
Or posting a graphic, sharing a quote, sending a newsletter. Screaming into the void, begging readers to see my story, read my book.
The Hermit is Me.
